July 2017: Jimmy Rodrigue!
You were the chosen one! When the Monthly Challenges kicked off, the staff would jokingly bet on who they think would win in the end, and Jimmy was often the favorite. However, losing the tiebreaker in December 2016 was a heartbreaker and we thought Jimmy was out of the game. But our boy is back and he’s done it ladies and gentlemen, the champion of June!
May 2017: Roger Simpson!
This month turned into a battle of man vs machine. Roger had this win in the bag, he had 8 out of the 9 challenges done, yet a single game remained. Beat Contra: Hard Corps. People attempted it, people failed, people gave up on this turd of a challenge. Not Roger! It became a batter of principle. Even with his win secured, he came in multiple days in a row putting in work on Contra: Hard Corps until finally becoming its victor. Respect.
April 2017: Stephan Normand!
These challenges are supposed to last all month. I mean they are called MONTHLY challenges. That’s why newcomer Stephan sure surprised us by completing all of the challenges in a single DAY! Never before has something so audacious been attempted. Well done, sir.
March 2017: Troy Blue!
He’s creepy and he’s kooky, mysterious and spooky, he’s altogher ooky, The Troy Blue Calamity! He conquered the nightmare that is The Addams Family on NES and was made to sweat with rival challenger Alton. But in the end, the Resident Evil 5 challenge was left unbeaten. You earned your JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure pose on our wall of fame, buddy.
February 2017: Nathaniel Lévesque!
I like to think I’m a clever guy, but this Big Brain Academy game thinks otherwise. Screw that game. I got every question right except for the GIRAFFE question and I got a B-? You get a B-, stupid game. Anyways, I don’t know how Nat beat that challenge and got an A, but he did and that alone should make him the winner for the month, but he beat all the challenges. Even the singing one. I really hate Big Brain Academy.
January 2017: Troy Blue!
Who needs skill when you have perseverance? Not this dude. The medium Tetris challenge almost broke his will, but after 10 hours he finally showed it who was boss. Later on, Troy showed some unprecedented dedication when he came in at 7.30 (in the MORNING) to knock out the last remaining challenge as Ulala, space reporter. Respect.
December 2016: Nathaniel Lévesque!
Nat and Jimmy tried to pull off some BFF hunger games bullshit where they do all the challenges together and share the grand prize. But we weren’t having that and pitted them against each other in a Nidhogg duel to decide the winner. It was Kat! I mean Nat!
November 2016: Pascal Berube!
Against all odds Pascal managed to beat all the challenges in the first month of challenges. Some people might say his cousin carried him through some hard challenges, but who’s to say!
